We all had such a great time and jammed out to so some amazing music!!! Also seeing the finished music video was awesome, every had put in a lot of work and it turned out amazing!! It was cool to be able to get out there and do something new while meeting some cool new people in the process!!

Liebster Award

Howdy, readers!! Long time, no blog!! Annoyingly, my already slow laptop's charger broke so I have been struggling to find time to write!! But my best Chummy, Danielle (http://danidarling16.blogspot.co.nz/) nominated me for the Liebster Award. I just  took Danielle's questions because I am not really sure how this works hehe. :)

Rules:
1 - The tagged/nominated blog must have less than 200 followers.
2 - Mention the blog/person that nominated you.
3 - Let the person/blog you nominate know that you tagged them.

Lets go!!!!!

1) What is your favourite childhood memory?
I lived with my Nannie (grandmother) for about three years and we got so close and used to play cards together and bake cookies and stuff. She was my best friend and so hilarious. We used to have burping contests!! I miss her so much!!

2) Who is your favourite person to watch on YouTube?
Literally, I watch SO many YouTubers, but my favourites off all time are as follows:
Mitchell Davis: http://www.youtube.com/user/livelavalive
Louise - Sprinkle of Glitterhttp://www.youtube.com/user/Sprinkleofglitter
Courtney/Adyel - xLiveLaughBeautyx: http://www.youtube.com/user/xLiveLaughBeautyx

3) Describe your dream job.
My biggest passion is music, so probably just being an artist with meaning. I want to inspire people in as many ways as possible.

4) When did you put up your first blog post?
Not long ago actually!! It was May of this year. :)

5) If you could have one superpower for one day, what would it be?
Being invisible, there would be so many perks!!

6) What is the most creative thing you've done recently?
My stepsister and I began making flower crowns, but then we discovered the hot glue gun was packed away because we're moving, oops!!

7) Where do you live?
Wellington, New Zealand! I love it so much, I find that in town there is always something fun to do! <3

8) What is your favourite thing to do on a Sunday morning? My Dad and I go and get a Coffee and an  Iced Chocolate at a local cafe, we have been doing it for about four years. The lady at the counter knows our order!!

9) What is the best part of your life right now?
I have so many exciting things coming up; I am moving into amazing new house, I am going to Vietnam in December and then Bali next year. Also, I have an interview for some leadership roles at my school, woo hoo! Bring it on!

10) What is your favourite quote?
I have two! The first one is "not all superheroes wear capes" and "love yourself before loving another. The first one because a superhero can sometimes be a parent, a doctor or even a celebrity, people just don't tend to think of them like that! And the second one because, I think that self love and knowing your worth is just as important as being loves by someone else.

I hope you find that interesting!! I do not know any other bloggers so if you come across this post, please I nominate you hehe!!!

Hopefully I will be back to posting regularly soon, love you!!

Weekend away!!

Howdy!! (WARNING:THIS POST IS PHOTO HEAVY).

So it has been a couple of weeks since I last posted, so sorry about that! I have been totally busy with various things but I have taken some time out tonight to write! Firstly, big thanks to my  best chummy, Danielle (http://danidarling16.blogspot.com/) for helping me make my header! Tell me what you think! :))

So, last weekend my Mum, grandparents and Uncle travelled up to this cute little area called Castle Point, it was about a three hour drive from where Mum and I live so in the car we just rocked out to Westlife. Sorry not sorry. The day we got there, we headed straight for the beach and we spent a bit of time just exploring around writing stuff in the sand. After that we went to the place we were staying at and just chilled, read and had dinner for the rest of the night. I have been so busy with helping Dad in the weeks leading up to his wedding and studying and being very stressed for my practise exams that I almost forgot how to relax!! So it was awesome to just be able to do nothing and not feel bad about it!

The next day was a Saturday and the warmest I had felt in so so long!! We got up and had an amazing cooked breakfast then spent the day tiki-touring around the place and climbing to the top of the lighthouse which ended up only taking about twenty minutes! And while we were tiki-touring of course we got lost along the way, my Uncle was reading off the wrong map oops!! It ended up fine though because we got to see places that I would never had seen if we didn't! Also I didn't bring my phone along with me so it was nice not to be constantly be checking all my social media all the time! Again at night we just all chilled out, watched the rugby and played some very aggressive table tennis. :Lots of good memories were made!!

The next day we got up and had another amazing cooked breakfast then my Mum and I said our goodbyes too the family and we took a short drive to Carterton where we had a look around a little market. It was so cute but unfortunately I could not get many photos of the stalls because it was not really appropriate. :( But I got to try a V (a kind of energy drink) slushie. Not gonna lie, it was disgusting hah! Then Mum and I took a spontaneous detour to Martinborough. This quaint town is very well known for its wineries, there were so many of them! But Mum and I just wandered around took a look at the gorgeous little shops. :))

See the couple making out behind me? Hahahaa. #ThirdWheel.

So after this we took a cruisy trip back to Wellington grabbing lunch on the way, back to reality!! I had such an awesome weekend, I am so thankful of my amazing family. :')

First Love

Howdy! So this isn't the kind of content I would usually post but I am pretty proud of this piece and I had a lot of fun writing this. :)) Please let me know if you enjoyed this because I have a Taylor Swift memoir that I may post in the near future too. Thank you, enjoy xx

I am sixteen, I am beautiful but lonely. Slowly getting known for my Doc Marten and dress combination, paired with my cardigan I got second hand a few years back. Mum hates that cardigan and she has good reason to. I wear it with everything, whether it matches or not. That cardigan feels like home, a familiar sight in my forever changing world. I don’t know what love is, for months I thought it was the feeling you got when you held a concert ticket for the first time or discovering that a long time acquaintance would turn out to be the best thing and best friend I could ever ask for. Turns out that was just having a passion, and a soul mate. I found out that these things weren't love when the concert ended and my best friend got a boyfriend. I don’t like to think about love because the main things that come to mind is my parents broken relationship and how my grandparents don’t sleep in the same bed any more. But sometimes when I am comfortably full of my favourite foods and I'm allowing myself to over think, I think of you. I think of when you saved me from the kids that didn't know right from wrong and the teachers that should have known right from wrong. Years later I realized that all that didn't matter, what did matter was that you saved me from myself. I think of your Mother, treating me like her own; telling me that I was the daughter she never did have. But over anything, I think about how you’re the only reason I attempted skateboarding. It reminds me of you and your old and shredded up board that you were still so proud of. Five years, many tears and a song about you later, you’re no longer around to help me fight my battles. You ignore me now and I always thought you were the one boy that would never do that to me. I walk away from you breathing funny because your best friend and your Mother always acknowledge me but you just stare into space thinking of anything but me, us. I also thought that to be in love you had to be loved back. Today I realized that isn't always the case. I love you but where are you?

Vintage Rose Curios and Gifts

Howdy!!!

My Mum's friend opened one of the most beautiful antiquetype stores I have ever seen!! The idea actually came because she is a hoarder and wanted to do something useful with all her old stuff, making sure it gets sent to a good home. So after months of sorting through her old stuff and weeks of renovating an old tattoo store, Vintage Rose Curios and Gifts was born!! It sells ornaments, clothes, soaps, handbags, cutlery. I can probably honestly say, you name it, she's got it!! Following are some photos of the place. :)

A display of some ceramic (may be the incorrect word) animals

The front half of the store

And, the back half of the store!

Some beautiful rose shaped door handles

Some of the patterns and material of the quirky clothes that are sold!

Appreciating the little things!!

Howdy!! <3

So this blog post is going to be about the little things in life that make us smile. :) (This quote seems relevant):

I find myself getting so upset over things like the thousand cracks on my iPhone screen or packing a sad over having to clear the dishwasher like, once a week. I mean I am lucky I even have a iPhone!!!!! Things like a random compliment or finding that you have a free drink of your Starbucks card are little things to appreciate!! Also, this week New Zealand has been shaken by a couple of heavy earthquakes, while they don't scare me it still made me think about the fact that myself and everyone around me was okay and that other people around the country can't say the same! Makes me want to live in the moment more, do what makes me happy! YOLO right!!!

This quote came to mind while I wrote this post. Not mine, I got it off Google images~

The main reason I am writing this post was one of the moments last week where I appreciated the little things. Maia, a girl in my friends group had bought herself some water paint that morning before school and at lunch time me, her and a few other decided to just do some painting!! Spontaneous yet soothing. Everyone has been a little stressed because we all have practise exams soon so this little art session was a nice way to ease into the dreaded last period of the day!

So, my challenge for you this week is to be positive!! Sounds easy, but for some people it just really isn't!

Thank you for reading,
Shannon xxx

The day I lost all my hair

*~Howdy ya'll~*

So, today's blog post is about one of the most beautiful yet emotional experiences of my life!! But, I will start from the beginning. :))

When I was about eleven or twelve my Dad, brother and I moved in with my Grandmother (Nannie) and we ended up living there for four years. Over this period of time, Nannie became my best friend but towards the end of two thousand and eleven she got really sick with Cancer and passed away early two thousand and twelve. That was when I decided that I would do what New Zealanders call 'Shave For A Cure' and shave all my hair off to raise money for Cancer.

On the sixth of March two thousand and thirteen, I shaved all my hair off. The class before lunch time a few of my friends and I went to the hall to set up. My three friends: Lucy, Holly and Philippa were the ones who helped me. Something that I found so very beautiful was that they were three of my best friends who are not even in the same friends group and before that day that hadn't even talked to each other but they still all teamed up and helped me set up and helped calmed down my Mum who was practically having a panic attack hehe.

The amount of people that came to my head shave is still so surreal to me, wow. People from different year groups, social groups and even a few of my friends who had left school came back in just to support me. It was such a strange feeling the ten or so minutes before my head shave as everyone was piling into the hall. As I saw everyone I knew I couldn't change my mind now! Weirdly enough, I wasn't even nervous! I can't say that my head shave went one hundred percent smoothly though! After the hair dresser had cut all my ponytails off (she was shaving the rest of my head next) the shaver decided not to work. So everyone was running around like mad things trying to figure out what the problem was while I was sitting in chair incapable of doing anything while Lucy got a hair clip stuck in her hair in front of over one hundred people (typical). After we got the shaver working, and we shaved the remaining hair off my head I instantly felt colder and way more naked! But people were hugging me and telling me how proud they were of me, people I didn't even know! I even had one stranger at my head shave give me twenty dollars and also some lady when I went shopping the next day working in a shop took twenty out of the till and gave it to me!

I am so proud of myself for what I did and I raised over five hundred dollars and when I sold my hair to a company that makes wigs for people with Cancer and other hair-loss releated diseases I got seventy-seven dollars, so all in all a good result! Haha thanks for reading xx If you have any questions please don't feel shy. "Be the change you want to see in this world" - Gandhi.

Holly and Philippa collecting donations at the door!

My supporters. :')

Off it goes!!

Thanks for reading, stay golden!! xxx
